There's been a real youth movement this spring. Not the establishment-shaking kind, but one that skews towards young lady dressing. For what could be his last collection for Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs showed off his sweet tooth with prim lacy looks in candy colors set against an all-white carousel.

Coming off the success of Kate Middleton's wedding dress, which hit mass levels of success, Sarah Burton's spring Alexander McQueen collection proved that she's lost none of that provocative edge that earned her predecessor the monicker of fashion's enfant terrible. Here, drama met sartorial precision. Day suits in unassumingly ladylike colors like cream and pink took on an ultra sexy angle with tightly cinched waists and lace caps that covered half the face.
Valentino Spring 2012
Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli's Valentino runway mixed the house's signature femininity with a new, minimal direction. It started with lace — for day, for evening, done in leather, long, short, ultra girly and a little tomboy. Any which way you like it and always cut beautifully.
